WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT BACK TO SLEEP
NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government funding program designed to offer financial support to Australians living with a disability. It is designed to provide funding directly to the individuals and their carers, so that they may gain access to the services they need to live an active fulfilling life. The funding can be used for a wide range of tailored services and products, such as home modifications, special care, occupational therapy or equipment – whatever the specific person needs to participate fully in occupation, recreation or education. It is important to note that NDIS funding cannot be used for the treatment of any illness or condition that occurs as a result of disability, such as you may receive from a doctor – that’s for Medicare!
Eligibility is determined on a case by case basis, as everyone is unique, however some general guidelines apply. You must:
– Be aged between 7 and 65 years old – people outside these age ranges have dedicated programs available to them
– Be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent or special visa
– Require regular support from another person or special equipment due to permanent and significant disability
There are also provisions in place for those who need support to prevent future worsening of their disability, even if they don’t fulfil the above currently. For further information on the NDIS, eligibility or to apply, visit the NDIS website at www.ndis.gov.au.
What are registered NDIS suppliers?
Registered NDIS suppliers may distribute products that can be purchased under the NDIS fund that any Australian or permanent resident living with a disability between the age of 7-65 may be entitled to.
What to look for in an NDIS mattress
Every physique is unique. The first priority is support and comfort in a bed and mattress. It’s vital to find the correct sleeping environment that will hold the alignment of your spine, eliminating sleep deprivation and pains.
What are the benefits of adjustable beds?
There are many additional features to the adjustable mattress that contribute to its practicality. For some, lying in a regular horizontal position brings complications like decreased blood flow and back pain. The adjustable bed can manipulate the shape of the mattress, positioning the individual to optimise sleep results.
What are the benefits of Hi-lo beds?
For some, getting out of bed is a task stifled by the disability they are living with. Back to sleep’s Hi-Lo beds offer a solution offering support, comfort, and assistance in finding stability to start the day.
